Housing & Residence Life

The purpose of this program is to foster religious understanding and acceptance between many varieties of different faiths. Over the coming weeks we plan to escort students to a number of different presentations and/or services to allow them to experience firsthand the differences (and even similarities) between divisions of faith which can be found right here in Bowling Green.  We will then invite students for a “tea and coffee” discussion with select religious leaders, immediately following the services/presentations. These discussions will allow students to talk about aspects of the exposed faith which may be similar or different to their own, as well as how they felt about attending the service or presentation.

Coffee, tea, and doughnuts will be provided.

It’s March Madness time!  Come to the 4^th floor study lounge of PFT to play in a basketball tournament on the Wii.  The event will take place on March 19^th at 8:00 PM.

Do you sing, rhyme, spit poetry or love doing karaoke? The Northeast Open Mic Night is your stage.  Join Northeast Hall for their second Open Mic of the Spring semester on March 19^th beginning at 8 pm.  Donations will be collected for a local non-profit in the Bowling Green community. All acceptable forms of artistic expression are welcomed.

Everyone needs a quiet place to study.  If you’re having trouble keeping the TV off, staying away from Facebook, or dealing with disruptive roommates, come to the Zacharias back lounge every Monday night from 8-10PM.  Make sure to have your WKU ID to sign in at the front desk if you’re not a Zach resident.  Coffee, juice, and light snacks will be provided.  Start strong, finish strong!

Women are Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers and Politicians come join the Gilbert Hall staff in a little bit of Trivia about women who were once just like you. See you soon in the Gilbert lobby on March 19^th @ 8:30pm and be ready for a little friendly competition.

Be a voice in a ”REAL Talk" about Gender and Racial Language lead by Dr. Peggy Crowe! A great follow-up for those that attended the Gender and Communication Conference. Tuesday March 20th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the Bemis Lawrence Fishbowl.

Bring the color of Spring Break back to the floor with some Patty Day flair.  Come decorate the floor on Tuesday, March 21^st at 7:00pm with art that expresses who you are!

On March 20^th, join the ladies of Meredith for a glamour shot and a take away picture. It will be a picture perfect evening in the 3^rd floor study lounge!  

This month’s program will be focused on relieving stress. After spring break students will be overwhelmed with test and exams. Therefore we will make homemade stress balls out of balloons and sand. The focus will be to eliminate stress to improve health and academic focus. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 8-9pm, Bates Lobby.

Come to the Cookie Decorating Party!  Whether you’re creating a sweet surprise for your sweetheart or treating yourself, you won’t’ regret spending some time letting your creativity flow.  We hope to see you on the 4^th floor of Bemis, March 20 at 8:30pm.

Learn to eat healthy!  Get fit for summer! If you want to achieve either of these goals then you should come out to the PFT 20^th floor study lounge on March 21 @6p.m. to learn how to eat healthy in 2012 and get the information to make healthy choices. New year, new you!

What can you do to make a difference in another's life? The animals of the Warren Co. Humane Society would love to show you in front of Hugh Poland on March 21 at 6:00pm! Enjoy some furry company, as well as the company of local volunteers to answer any questions you have about lending a hand in your community!

Happy 20^th Birthday ME!! Come join the Meredith staff to celebrate Meredith’s birthday in the lobby! We will have snacks, classic birthday games, and of course no birthday party is complete without cake!!

Learn how to MANifest your own destiny!  Join us in PFT for an open discussion about masculinity, stereotypes, and what a real man looks like along with student leaders, residents, staff, and your fellow residents.  Come to the 23^rd floor of PFT on March 21^st at 7:00 PM to participate in this program.

If you want a place to study with some amazing treats, join the 2^nd floor of Meredith in the study lounge for some brownies and studying. 

Come learn strategies to see more green, but not on a four leaf clover!  Dodging debt doesn’t take St. Patty’s day luck so attend this program, Wednesday, March 21 at 8:00pm in the Bemis Lawrence Fish Bowl to hear creative ways to save money and get more bang for your buck!

Hearts, stars, horseshoes, clovers and blue moons! Pots of Gold and rainbows, and me red balloons! You’ll get all of these and more by coming to the Poland Study Room at 8pm on March 21st to learn more about St. Patrick’s Day and participate in a magically delicious eating competition!

“Yo, girl, check me in!” “Yo girl, come get me now!”  Have you ever seen a man treat a woman this way?  Let’s stop these occurrences and change what’s acceptable.  Come to Men Empowering Women on Thursday, March 22 at 6:00pm in the Bemis Fish Bowl.  Light refreshments are provided.

Have something you’re dying to talk about? Come join the girls of the 24^th floor and tie-dye your problems away.  Bring your own shirts and come have a great time.  The party starts at 7:00pm on March 22^nd outside PFT.

Suicide is not funny, and it is not easy to talk about. We are going to try though. March 23 at 8:30pm join us for a real life talk about suicide and what can be done about it. The film To Save a Life will be shown fallowed by a short discussion
