Keilen Frazier, WKU sophomore from Louisville, KY

“I chose WKU because this is the best place in the nation for what I wanted to study (photojournalism). WKU is big enough to have a lot of opportunities but small enough to be a community and have that family feel. I love that I feel like I have a place where I belong. WKU, in my first two years alone, has given me so many opportunities to be better and given me a bright path for my career.”

“When I started applying to colleges, the ability to study abroad was important to my college choice. Being able to use the Cherry Presidential Scholarship award to study abroad confirmed WKU as the school for me. I joined the Semester at Sea program as a freshman and traveled to Costa Rica as a sophomore. As a member of the Mahurin Honors College, MHC faculty and staff cared if I came here and truly wanted me to succeed.”

Rachel Campoy, WKU freshman from Nicholasville, KY

“The Hilltopper Guarantee allowed me to have a full college experience away from home. While the scholarship is designed to help cover the cost of tuition, knowing my tuition would be covered gave me the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, such as being a part of my sorority and Living Learning Community (LLC). As a result, I am forming these really close friendships. I love the close-knit community, small class sizes and one-on-one attention that you get at WKU.”
