Undergraduate students seeking a baccalaureate degree from WKU may be required to complete a minor along with their major area of study. Several minors are now available completely online and this number continues to grow.
WKU offers the opportunity for undergraduate students to earn certificates in specialty areas as they are working toward their degree. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate expertise in an area complimentary to their major.

Typically, associate degrees can be earned in as little as two years. Often students choose to complete an associate degree program before moving on to a bachelor's degree program. Many of the courses required for an Associate may count toward a four–year degree.
