WKU's Bachelor of Social Work program consists of 54 semester hours – 48 hours in social work and 6 hours in advisor consent electives. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job outlook is expected to grow 16% by 2026. Our program is designed to prepare students for jobs in fields like the following:

  • Foster care and adoptions
  • Probation, parole, and youth offender services
  • Victim assistance
  • Employee hiring, retention, and retirement
  • Working with developmentally disabled
  • Providing academic services in schools
  • Improving conditions for disadvantaged
  • Working with older adults
  • Planning and development of community programs
  • Counseling and therapy for individuals and families
  • Developing programs that promote health
  • Drug or alcohol addiction treatment
