WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Here is a link to the University’s attendance policy during adverse weather conditions. Use caution and watch for slick spots on roads and walks.

Program Development

Program Development

Dr. Sylvia S. Gaiko joined WKU in 2004 and is currently the Associate Vice President for Planning and Program Development. In this role, she provides leadership for curriculum, program development, and articulation agreements. She works closely with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE), the WKU Board of Regents, and is co-liaison for accreditation.

Dr. Gaiko provides service and support to the Undergraduate Curriculum committee, Graduate Council and academic units in program development and modification that promotes student success. In addition, she works closely with the Kentucky CPE to develop and implement policies that support student success at WKU and across the state.

Dr. Gaiko's focus is always on implementing and initiating activities that strengthen the educational opportunities for the students. She serves to assist faculty and administration in new and revised initiatives that enhance student success while supporting the WKU vision, mission and strategic plan.
