HonorsTopper Bio

Hey Hilltoppers! My name is Riley Hurm and I am currently a sophomore here on the hill. I graduated in 2022 from Sacred Heart Academy with my International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. I'm from Prospect, KY and I am majoring in Communication Disorders, expecting to graduate in Spring of 2025. I love all things language and linguistics related and hope to one day become a Speech Language Pathologist. This is my first year serving as an HonorsTopper, and I am also involved in Honors Social Planning Board, Out in Honors, Ceramics Club, the Feminist Student Union, and I’m an H4 counselor. In my free time, you’ll likely find me reading, hammocking in Centennial Mall, or listening to Phoebe Bridgers.

I love the Mahurin Honors College and am so thankful for the opportunity to get to be a part of this wonderful organization. My best advice for incoming scholars is to get involved as much as possible, the MHC does a great job of connecting scholars and weaving together alumni, staff, and scholars into a beautiful tapestry of community. I’m honored to get to be a part of your journey heading for the hill, and I’m so excited for you all to join the MHC community! Go TOPS!

HSPB Bio

Hello everyone! My name is Riley Hurm and I am a sophomore here on the hill studying Communication Disorders. Alongside being a part of HSPB, I also serve as an HonorsTopper, an H4 counselor, and a member of Ceramics Club, Out in Honors, and the the Feminist Student Union. In my free time, you’ll likely find me doing anything related to the outdoors, listening to Stranger in the Alps (one of the best albums of all time), or reading.

I’m thrilled to be a member of this organization, as I attended several HSPB events my freshman year (the HSPB gingerbread house contest will forever be one of my favorite memories) and hope to plan equally amazing events for others. My best advice for any student is to get involved! The MHC truly creates such a wonderful community and attending HSPB events is a great way to involve yourself in this community further. As always, GO TOPS!
