The MHC HonorsToppers

Hi there! My name is Elana and I am so excited for you to visit our beautiful campus! I grew up in Wilmore KY, about 2.5 hours from campus, and I attended West Jessamine High School. Here at WKU, I am double majoring in Sociology, with an emphasis in community development, and Environmental, Sustainability, and Geographic Studies, with a minor in Non-profit Administration. In the future, I would love to either serve in local or state government, or work in the National Parks Service. If you can’t tell, I strive to emulate Leslie Knope in all that I do! Outside of classes, I am PR chair of the Honors Social Planning Board, and a member of the horticulture club. I love the natural world, so I am often outside hiking, swimming, backpacking, camping, or even talking walks around campus! I love spending time with my friends, reading books, and watching sitcoms. 

Applying to be an MHC scholar here at Western was one of the best things that I have done, and I love the MHC with my whole heart! I can’t wait to get to meet you and share in your college journey!! Welcome to Western and GO TOPS!!!!

I love planning events for my peers and providing a venue for scholars to connect with one another. The MHC is such an important place to me and it is an honor to play a role in building up that community!
