19 WKU students earned the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for study abroad in the October 2021 application cycle, more than all other Kentucky institutions combined. Of these 19, 13 are Mahurin Honors College Scholars.

The WKU Student Government Association (SGA) has allocated $1,500 to create funding for underrepresented minority scholars in The Mahurin Honors College (MHC), which will cover the MHC membership fee for twelve MHC scholars this fall.
