Location: Preston Centor Loading Dock by 3:45 P.M.
This year, we are partnering with Bowling Green Parks and Rec to do a river clean up of Drake's Creek out at Phil Moore Park. Assuming the water levels are safe and good to run, we will canoe a small stretch of water and clean up any trash or litter we see in the water or on the banks. If the water levels are not safe to run, Leah Spurlin of BGPR has arranged a couple of back up projects for us to help out with.
The plan is to meet at the Preston Center Loading Dock by 3:45 PM on Monday, April 22. After we fill out the proper paperwork, we will drive over to Phil Moore Park and meet Adam (also from BGPR) who will supply us with tools and trash bags. ORAC will provide you with PFDs, paddles, and boats. Make sure you wear clothes you are comfortable getting wet and shoes you are comfortable getting wet/sandals with a backstrap. Also, make sure to bring a water bottle and some snacks - we'll be out there for a few hours! We should arrive back at the Preston Center no later than 7:00 PM.
Currently, the weather is supposed to be cloudy with a high of 80 degrees and a low of 54 degrees. Dress accordingly!
