Every Act of Generosity Counts

Gifts to The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU make a lifelong impact on children and young people around the world, providing the opportunity to those who need financial assistance to participate in our programming.

#GivingTuesday inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities and give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in — it helps create a better world.

"My summers at VAMPY provided an invaluable bridge for me between deep rural poverty and the possibilities of the outside world. The ability to recreate myself each summer also gave me confidence that has been a keystone to my success in life."

Will Luttrell (SCATS 1985, VAMPY 1986-89)

"The Center was the one place I felt academically at home and was surrounded by people just like me. My sister and I grew up quite poor, but we were fortunate to be sponsored to attend SCATS and VAMPY. Then, by extension, we were able to get full rides to several different colleges. Because of these educational opportunities, we have bettered ourselves and improved our lives."

Steffanie Skiles (SCATS 2007-08, VAMPY 2009)

What Will My Contribution Accomplish?

The Center for Gifted Studies has been serving children who are gifted and talented, their educators, and their parents for forty years. The Center provides exciting educational opportunities for gifted young people, rigorous professional development for teachers, and support for parents of gifted young people. Under the direction of Dr. Julia Roberts, The Center has become one of the preeminent advocates for gifted education in the United States.

The Center believes that when gifted young people meet their extraordinary potential, our communities, our state, our nation—even our world—become better places. That is why each school year, The Center renews its commitment to encouraging excellence by providing quality programming and resources for gifted students, their teachers, and their parents.
