Alcohol and Drugs

College students who drink excessively and abuse substances are more likely to smoke, have a low GPA, and skip class. This interactive presentation and support from WKU's health educators will help accomplish the following:

  • Students will be able to identify signs of alcohol abuse.

  • Students will be able to measure the standard serving size of an alcoholic drink.

  • Students will challenge assumptions regarding alcohol and substance abuse in college.

  • Students will recall ways to prevent giving into peer pressure.

  • Students will be able to explain how alcohol and other substance abuse can negatively affect health.

  • Students will be able to describe the relationship between alcohol and drugs and consent.
