Three WKU students have been named Goldwater Scholars in the 2019 competition. Megan Dillingham of Bowling Green, Alexander Stewart of Clearfield, and Sydney Wheeler of Scottsville received Barry M. Goldwater Scholarships.

Dana Biechele-Speziale has been awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and will receive an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost-of-education allowance to pursue graduate study in chemistry. Two WKU alumni were recognized as honorable mentions.

Chad Coomer has received a U.S. Student Fulbright grant to the UK to complete his master’s degree in infection and immunity at University College London. He has also been accepted into the National Institutes of Health Oxford-Cambridge Scholars program.
