Take Our Kids To Work Day

WKU Human Resources is proud to host Take Our Kids To Work Day on Thursday, April 25th! All WKU Employees with either children or grandchildren currently enrolled in grades 2 -12 are invited to participate in this free event! High School students will follow a separate program aimed to help them become college ready. Details for high school students can be found HERE.

Take Our Kids To Work Day is part of a national event that is designed to be more than a career day. “Exposing children to what a parent or mentor does during the workday is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities of work and family life, providing children a chance to share how they envision the future, and allowing them to begin steps toward their goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving of success."

Registration is limited and spots fill up fast. Breakout sessions are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Registration ends Tuesday, April 9th. Registration will close earlier if capacity is reached. Don't delay, register today!

Here's How it Works!

1. Preview the breakout session opportunities and have your child(ren) or grandchild(ren) select the sessions they are most interested in from the Morning and Afternoon options.
2. Complete registration by April 9th. Registration will close earlier if capacity is reached.
3. Bring your child(ren) or grandchild(ren) to DSU room 3024 on Thursday, April 25th, between 8:00-8:30am and enjoy complimentary donuts, coffee, and juice!
4. Lunch at Fresh Foods will be provided for participants at 11:30am. We encourage parents or grandparents of participants to join us for lunch at Fresh Foods and utilize their monthly free meal swipe.
5. Pick up your child(ren) or grandchild(ren) in DSU 3024 at 3:00pm to shadow you for the remainder of the day provided your department allows shadowing.
