Get ready for a thrilling Preston Center adventure: action-packed relay races, essential pool safety lessons, and exciting grocery bingo!

Tennis shoes required. Participants will be given the opportunity to do physical activities for fun during a game.

The modern policing era has seen many changes in investigative technology to keep our communities safe. Visit the  WKU Police Department and  learn about proactive crime prevention strategies and get hands-on experience with "tools of the trade" utilized at WKU.

Problem-solving is an important skill! Join the School of Leadership and Professional Studies to play games that will challenge us to think of unique ways to solve problems and demonstrate teamwork.

Motions in the Sky

Visit the WKU Planetarium to learn how the sky appears to move over time and how that changes based on where you live on Earth. See the sky from Kentucky, the Equator, the North Pole, and understand why the sky appears to move as it does
Slime Time
2-5
Students will use Chemistry skills to make slime and silly putty!
Make your Own Pizza and Cookie Decorating
2-8

Students will be able to sauce and top their own pizza as well as decorate a sugar cookie with icing and sprinkles.

While cookies do not contain nuts, all cookies are made in a location where nuts are present.

Game On!

 

2-8

Students will play games to learn about leadership, community recreation, the importance of exercise, and the value of teamwork. The sessions will include various, FUN physical activities and challenges as the participants rotate through stations.

Tennis shoes required. Participants will be given the opportunity to do physical activities that involve jump roping, running (for fun during a game), and other sport-type activities.

Big Red has a Farm

Big Red's farm will be on full display as participants get to take a ride on wagons pulled by a big tractor. The farm staff will show participants the many parts of the farm like dairy cows, beef cows, crops, and horses. Participants will have the opportunity to try some cheese from the Hilltopper Creamery as well as pet some baby cows. We have some new additions to the farm that you will just have to come see!

Participants will be riding on an open wagon exposed to the weather and allergens. There is also exposure to farm animals, soil (dirt), dust, debris, and potentially animal waste. Closed toe shoes recommended. Shoes may get dirty.

It's Cool to Be an Entrepreneur 2-5

Explore entrepreneurship by creating your own ice cream shop. Ice cream will be served!

Afternoon Breakout Session #2 Options
   
Kids of the Past 2-8 Journey with the History department faculty to see what kids of the past would be doing for fun! Games, puzzles, toys and more will be displayed for a hands on trip across the Global Past. Older kids can create their own primary sources by writing a short note on what life is like today.
