Environmental and Occupational Health Science Programs (EOHS)
Current programs offered in EOHS include the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in EOHS, Undergraduate Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Graduate and Undergraduate Certificates in Worksite Health Promotion, Graduate Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, and the Master of Science (M.S.) in EOHS. The M.S. and B.S. degree programs in Environmental and Occupational Health Science (EOHS) are supported by a CDC/NIOSH Training Project Grant. Both programs are accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council (EHAC) and designated as Qualified Academic Program (QAP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Faculty in the program are engaged in a diverse portfolio of research, teaching, and service. A hallmark of the EOHS programs is that graduates have greater than 98% success rate of being hired in the fields of environmental health and safety, occupational safety and health, and environmental compliance and protection. EOHS faculty have many opportunities for community based participatory research, engagement with regional NIOSH Education and Research Centers, active participation in the WKU Center for Environmental and Workplace Health, and professional development.
Job Description
The Department of Public Health is accepting applications for tenure-eligible faculty appointment at the rank of pedagogical assistant professor. The following duties listed below are customary for this position, but are not to be constructed as all inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on administrative discretion and institutional needs. Pedagogical faculty are not required to conduct research.
Teaching: Primary responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate and graduate Environmental and Occupational Health Science courses, which are delivered in-person on campus and potentially online. A secondary responsibility for this position is providing academic and career advising to undergraduate students in Environmental and Occupational Health Science and Health Sciences majors.
Service: Actively participate in university (program, department, college, and university committees) and professional services, as well as recruitment and retention efforts.

Job Requirements:- An earned doctorate, or ABD in Environmental and Occupational Health Science, or related fields.
- Demonstrate interest in student engagement through teaching and service activities.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Qualified to teach courses in Environmental and Occupational Health. Please include detailed information about qualification, including degrees earned, relevant coursework, and any specialized training and certification, teaching experience, scholarly work or professional experience in environmental and occupational health.
