Adam Alter is an Associate Professor of Marketing at New York University’s Stern School of Business, with an affiliated appointment in the New York University Psychology Department.

About the WEDGE Visiting Scholar Presentations
The Wedge Visiting Scholar Presentations, a free evening lecture and all-day workshop for educators and the public, has been presented each year since 2003 through a gift from the Wedge family. Presentations have included Dr. Carol Tomlinson on “Defensible Differentiation: What Will It Take to Get It Right?”; Dr. Donald Treffinger on teaching children to think critically and creatively; Jonathan Plucker on excellence gaps; Bronwyn MacFarlane on “Curriculum for Every Student to Succeed: Integrating Best Practices from Gifted Education in the Content Areas; and Barbara Kerr on “From Imagination to Innovation: Encouraging Students in STEM.”

Dance Big Red

The Fifth Annual Dance Big Red student-led dance fundraising event at Western Kentucky University will be held March 29. This past March, nearly 800 students danced for 12 hours and raised over $73,000 for Norton Children's Hospital.
Since it began, Dance Big Red has raised more than $176,000 for pediatric cardiovascular services and adolescent cancer care at Norton Children’s Hospital. A total of five high schools hosted Dance Little Reds contributing to the overall success and growth of Dance Big Red. Join our efforts by participating as a dancer, making a donation, and/or becoming an event sponsor today!
Important Details
The overall goal for Dance Big Red 2019 is to raise $85,000 and recruit 1,000 dancers. All Western Kentucky University students, faculty and staff are invited to participate as a DANCER. All WKU friends and family can support the event with a donation and/or become a business sponsor the event!
