Requirements for Documents

We’re so glad you’re interested in WKU! If you haven’t already applied, you can submit the application here. You should receive your admission decision within 7-10 business days of your application being completed with all necessary documents received and processed. If you’re wondering about how to submit your supporting documents, please see below.

The quickest way to request a transcript is through electronic services such as Parchment. If your school uses Parchment, you can request your transcript to be delivered directly to WKU at parchment.com. You can check with your high school counselor to see if your school uses an electronic service for transcript requests.

If they do not, please have your high school counselor mail that document directly to us. The transcript must be in a sealed envelope from the school. Our mailing address is:

WKU Office of Admissions
1906 College Heights Blvd. #11020
Bowling Green, KY 42101-1020

Your high school counselor can also email a copy of your transcript directly to admission@wku.edu. The WKU Admissions staff will verify it and make sure it gets added to your application. All emailed transcripts must come directly from your high school counselor; we are unable to accept transcripts emailed directly from the student.

If you are homeschooled, your parent or educator can email your transcript directly to admission@wku.edu.

  • You will be notified if our office also needs a Homeschool Curricula Review. This document is a brief syllabus of your coursework in your homeschool program. It can be emailed from the parent or educator directly to admission@wku.edu.

We can accept ACT or SAT scores sent directly from the ACT or SAT. Allow approximately 7-10 business days for your request to be received and processed. You will be notified by email once we receive them.

These scores can also be included on an official high school transcript sent using any of the methods above. The scores on the transcript must include all subscores, the composite, and test date (month and year).

Please don’t email your score report directly to us- we can’t accept it that way.

College transcripts and letters of good standing must be delivered either through an electronic service- such as the National Student Clearinghouse, eScrip, Parchment- or by mail. You can check with your institution to see which electronic service they use. If they don’t use one, they can send your document by mail. It must be prepared for and addressed to Western Kentucky University, and remain sealed in its original envelope. Our mailing address is:

WKU Office of Admissions
1906 College Heights Blvd. #11020
Bowling Green, KY 42101-1020

Transfer students must submit official transcripts from each previously attended institution. If you have earned fewer than 24 credit hours, you must also submit an official high school transcript.

ACT or SAT scores are required for transfer students under the age of 21 with fewer than 24 earned credit hours.

Please don’t email your transcript or letter directly to us- we can’t accept it that way.

We are only able to accept student-submitted GED Scores/Transcripts if they include an original verification code. If the code is not included, please request an official copy to be delivered to us electronically or by mail. GED score/transcript requests vary by state.

If you are unsure if your copy counts as official, please email it to us at admission@wku.edu so we can review it and provide further guidance.
