Child & Family Services - Child Studies Concentration, BS
The Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Services, Child Studies Concentration, is designed to develop understanding of children and their needs.
Graduates will be prepared to work in a child-focused environment and work in careers
such as: agency director/manager, case management, head start, child advocacy, youth
counselor, extension agent, and child welfare.
Child & Family Services - Family Studies Concentration, BS
The central purpose of the Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Services, Family Studies Concentration is to prepare graduates who are interested in working in a family-focused environment.
The graduates will have a broad knowledge base working with children and families
and be prepared to work in child care, community centers, extension services, or family
life education.
The online Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology degree helps students earn the credentials needed to build a strong foundation in
the computer information technology industry. Information technology (IT) is an integral
part of modern life and business.
The Computer Information Technology program at WKU can help you prepare for many of
these exciting careers, including: Computer Network Architect, Computer Programmer,
Computer Support Specialist, Computer Systems Analyst, Database Administrator, Information
Security Analyst, Network and Computer Systems Administrator, Software Developer,

As sociologists, criminologists study factors such as when and where crimes are most
often committed, the reasons for criminal behavior, and the types of crimes most often
committed. They may also research crime's effect on society at large, and the government's
response to crime.
Many graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Criminology degree work in law enforcement, the prison system, juvenile corrections, probation
or parole, or use the bachelor’s degree to prepare for graduate or law school.

Health Care Administration, an AUPHA Certified undergraduate program at WKU, is a
profession that provides management leadership in one of the nation's largest service
industries.
The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration (HCA) prepares you for high demand positions in many health care settings: including clinics,
consulting firms, health insurance organizations, healthcare associations, hospitals,
medical supplies, long-term care facilities, and rehabilitation centers.
The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a health and human
sciences related career. Students may select from three concentrations:
Health Services Leadership & Management: The main focus of this concentration is home and community-based services. This concentration
is available 100% online or in-person.
Health Sciences-Allied Health: This concentration is for graduates with an Associate of Applied Sciences in a health-related
field. The remaining required courses to complete the Bachelor of Science in Health
Sciences can be completed 100% online or in-person.
Preparatory Health Sciences: This concentration is designed to prepare students for a postgraduate or professional
degree in a health-related field. This option is not available online; however, several
courses may be completed at a distance, allowing for increased flexibility.
Graduates will be prepared to work in careers such as patient navigators, respite
care services, assisted living, home health care, and other health-related professions.
The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) is a degree designed for students interested in developing a unique degree plan around
a chosen area of emphasis to support professional and personal life goals.
Depending on the chosen emphasis, graduates can work in a variety of settings including
corporations, government agencies, educational settings, non-profit organizations,
and social service and human resource agencies.
The Business Administration option of the Bachelor of Science in Management degree provides a broad business perspective for students who eventually wish to be
involved in profit or goal management responsibilities.
Graduates can expect to start their career with an entry-level position with some
organization and move progressively upward through a series of line and/or staff positions.
This program leads to theBachelor of Science degree and the Kentucky Provisional Middle Grades Education (grades

The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership provides an academic foundation for the professional and career-focused study of

The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Legal Studies is approved by the American Bar Association and provides paralegals with a well-rounded, balanced education founded on a beneficial

The Master of Arts in History is designed to engage students in the discipline of history and prepare students

Libraries, Informatics, and Technology in Education, MS
The Master of Science in Libraries, Informatics, and Technology in Education primary focus is to prepare school librarians for information services and educational
technology. Graduates of the program pursue positions such as library media specialists,
training development specialists, educational technology specialists, and information
service specialists in schools, colleges, public libraries, and private organizations.
The Master of Arts in Literacy provides opportunities for students to develop their knowledge and skills in literacy
instruction, assessment, and leadership. Graduates from this program are prepared

The Master of Arts in Mathematics degree is intended for students who are secondary teachers who already hold teacher

The Master of Public Health provides students with a broad-based foundation to address the health and well-being

Depending on the concentration, graduates pursue careers working as K-12 coaches and
athletic administrators, facility and event managers, and in areas of intercollegiate
athletics, marketing, merchandising, public relations, and branding.
SecondaryEducation for Teacher Leaders, MAE
The Master of Arts in Education in Secondary Education for Teacher Leaders is designed to develop Teacher Leaders who can positively impact student learning
in their classrooms and schools.
The Master of Social Work program prepares students for professional social work practice at the graduate level
to meet the needs of increasingly diverse rural populations. It is particularly dedicated
to addressing the work-force needs of agencies that serve families and communities.
The Special Education Initial Certification in Learning and Behavior Disorders program, which will lead to a Master of Arts in Teaching, is for individuals who are seeking initial certification in LBD and may or may not
be currently employed as a teacher of students with Learning and Behavior disorders. The
program introduces students to the profession of special education.
Special Education for Moderate & Severe Disabilities, MAE
The Master of Arts/Teacher Leader in Special Education for Moderate and Severe Disabilities
Advanced Preparation program is designed to develop Teacher Leaders who can positively impact student
learning in their classrooms and schools while serving students with Moderate and
Severe Disabilities (MSD).
Special Education for Learning & Behavior Disorders, MAE
The MAE in Special Education, Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD), is program is designed to develop Teacher Leaders who can positively impact
student learning in their classrooms and schools while serving students with Learning
and Behavior Disorders.
The Master of Science in Communication Disorders is designed to prepare professional speech pathologists to meet the needs of the
communicatively impaired in hospitals, clinics, nursing facilities, and schools.
*The Community College Faculty Preparation certificate may be completed at a distance
with advisor approval and proper planning. The discipline specific requirement of
18 hours may be completed online in certain subject areas. Students may select an
area of emphasis from any of the online MA or MS programs, if an online pathway is
needed.
