The WKU Department of Music was well represented at the 2015 Kentucky Music Educators Association annual conference. Held in Louisville, KY February 4-7, this conference brings together students, teachers, administrators, industry personnel, and music enthusiasts from throughout the state of Kentucky.
Dr. Paul Hondorp gave a choral clinic titled "Expressive Phrasing: Don't Just Sing the NOTES!!!!", Dr. Ching-Yi Lin and Sarah Berry presented "Slip and Slide: Teaching String Shifting with Ease", thirty-two current WKU music students participated in the Intercollegiate Band, Choir, Jazz Ensemble, and Orchestra, and over 75 alumni gathered for a WKU reception.
It was a wonderful week of meeting new students, reconnecting with old ones, sharing ideas, and promoting the great art of music teaching!
