Who We Are
The mission of the WKU Department of Recycling and Surplus is to promote a more sustainable WKU by reducing or eliminating solid waste generation and disposal. We will accomplish this by developing thoughtful purchasing strategies, increasing re-use of materials and equipment, providing convenient and effective opportunities to recycle, and conducting comprehensive outreach and education services.
Recycling and Composting
Recycling and Composting is managed by the Department of Facilities Management in room 115. Office hours vary, but you can email email@example.com to make an appointment.
Summer 2018 Hours
Check out the WKU Surplus Facebook page for postings of items that are available for reuse on campus. Surplus is open to view items in person, or to drop off items from 9 AM - 3 PM on Wednesdays and 9 AM - 12 PM on Fridays. If you cannot make it to surplus during the scheduled hours, please email Elizabeth Gafford at firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
We are currently located on the 2nd floor of the Service and Supply Building, located at the intersection of University Blvd. and Russellville Road, across from the baseball field. Non-surplus staff and faculty are not permitted in surplus without surplus staff present. Please schedule an appointment before coming to Surplus.
