Congratulations to WKU Alum and retiree, Becky Tabor, who has earned Emeritus status at WKU! She was nominated by the Dental Hygiene program in 2019 after serving as a faculty member and retiring after providing five years of transitional retirement.
Tabor graduated from WKU in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Education and returned for her Master’s shortly after. Tabor holds three diplomas’ from WKU. “I taught in the Dental Hygiene Program my entire time at WKU, first as Assistant Professor and later as Associate professor after receiving tenure. I retired from teaching in 2015 and completed 5 years of transitional retirement for a total of 35 years!” said Tabor.
Tabor is a walking definition of Hilltopper spirit, “My parents were both proud WKU grads and I remember being on campus as a preschooler while my mother finished her degree. I grew up attending WKU basketball games and have been a season ticket holder for basketball and football for many years. My husband is a WKU grad and my two children are 3rd generation Hilltoppers! We have a lot of red in our home and a lot of WKU spirit!”
We are proud to celebrate this achievement with Mrs. Tabor and wish her well in future endeavors, although we are likely to still see the lifelong hilltopper around campus.
