Imagewest takes on MashUp Nashville as yearly pro-bono project
- Tuesday, September 1st, 2020
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.—Every semester, Potter College's student run advertising and public relations agency, Imagewest, develops a pro-bono brand awareness campaign for a non-profit. This semester, Imagewest collaborated with Mashup Nashville. Their goal is to help bridge the gaps between healthcare professionals and LGBTQ men of color. The campaign works to encourage health care professionals to seek training that aids in alleviating the health disparities of LGBTQ men of color by addressing racism as a public health crisis.
“Our work with MashUp Nashville reflects the university’s commitment to supporting diversity and community initiatives,” said Imagewest Co-Director Kara Williams-Glenn, “when we saw how MashUp Nashville works to fight racism and discrimination in healthcare, we knew we had to use the skills we’ve learned in the classroom to help them rebrand.”
Imagewest interns wanted to create something that spread awareness to the campaign’s audiences, healthcare workers and LGBTQ men of color. The re-branding, website, and social media teams designed eye-catching and informational graphics and designs, while the public relations and deliverables teams designed informative documents and a newsroom full of relevant and helpful articles and press releases.
At the end of the project, Imagewest interns presented their work to MashUp Nashville Founder and CEO Brian Marshall, who tearfully thanked them for their hard work and creativity.
“Seeing everything that Imagewest did for us in just one week gives me hope for our future,” said Marshall, “MashUp Nashville is ready to expand our base to cities outside of Nashville and use the tools that Imagewest gave us to help more people.”
