Support standards are necessary to ensure the technical environment at WKU is supportable, maintainable and secure. WKU’s Technical Support Services area provides standards to have sufficient resources to efficiently and adequately support the University’s client base and its technology needs.
Users are strongly encouraged to adhere to the standards defined below and should be aware that deviation from these standards will not be supported and could pose a risk to the University’s business continuity, information security, and/or daily operations. These standards apply to:
- All University-owned computer hardware
- All University-owned computer software
- All users of computer systems, including but not limited to University faculty, staff, and student employees.
All personally-owned devices in use by WKU students are supported. Every effort is made to respond to all service needs, but the level of support may differ for some computers and peripherals, depending on their hardware, software, function, age or other factors.
