Western Kentucky University has established a Managed Print Services Policy and is partnered with Ricoh to be the sole provider of output devices on all WKU campuses. For more information please visit the following:

MPS Program MPS Policy

WKU is no longer accepting leases from any third-party vendors, and any existing leases will expire without renewal.
WKU’s Information Technology Services (ITS) will continue to support existing WKU-owned output devices until they are replaced under Managed Print Services. Support may be limited, and ITS will work with the department on a per incident basis regarding repairs and troubleshooting.
ITS will only install new network capable or local output devices that are part of Managed Print Services.
ITS does not support printing to WKU-owned or leased printers from personally-owned computers or mobile devices.
ITS does not support inkjet printers; therefore requests for service on inkjet printers will be denied.

Printer Exceptions

According to the MPS Policy, exceptions can be requested, and will be reviewed by ITS. If an exception is granted, every effort will be made to use a Ricoh output device. ITS will only approve the purchase of an output device from a third party if there is no device offered by Ricoh that possesses the capabilities required to meet the department’s or user’s needs. If a non-Ricoh legacy device is granted an exception, support may be limited, and ITS will work with the department on a per incident basis regarding repairs and troubleshooting.
