Muscle of the Month: BOX CHALLENGE

  • Location: Fitness Center
  • Time: 6:00am - 10:30pm

Want to tone up those legs and abs?  Get started by participating in the October Muscle of the Month Box Challenge. Compete in this timed event to test your cardiovascular and lower body muscular endurance. Cardiovascular exercise promotes a healthy heart, lungs, and vascular system. Challenge yourself to new heights this October, compete in the Box Challenge this month and you may be a winner!

Rules:

  • Notify a FC Attendant before you begin.
  • Complete as many Box Jumps as you can in one minute, stepping up is optional. Use 18 inch box (shortest box).
  • Preston Center employees will be in their own category, separate from patrons.
  • Participants can only complete the challenge one time per day.
  • The male and female who complete the most miles will win a $15 Buckhead Cafe Gift Card.
  • Each time you participate, your name will be entered into a raffle for a $10 Buckhead Café Gift Card.
  • Participate at least twice in the month to receive WellU® credit!
All Day

Mountain Biking and Hiking

  • Location: Brown County State Park, IN
  • Time: All Day

Come along as we head to the rolling hills of Indiana.  Brown County State Park is one of the top places in the United States to view fall foliage.  Join us as we hike and mountain bike on some 20 plus miles of trail the park has to offer.  Hesitation Point is just one of several vistas to see on this adventure.  All equipment is provided and no previous experience is required on this two-day trip.

Our Men's Soccer Club is set to face off with the men from Bellarmine.  Come on out and cheer them on!

Mountain Bike Mondays

  • Location: Welden Pete Park/Low Hollow Trail
  • Time: All Day

Check out one of our 29” FUJI mountain bikes and join us as we head downtown to ride Bowling Green’s new mountain bike trail in Weldon Pete Park.  Bring your own bike or rent one of ours for $5.  Ride time will be between 2-4 hours depending on daylight and time available.  Snacks, dinner or local Bowling Green attractions may also be included in this event.  This information will be shared at start of event.

  • The male and female who have the most 5Ks at the end of the month will win a $15 Wal-Mart Gift Card.

Backpacking at Red River Gorge

  • Location: Red River Gorge, KY
  • Time: All Day

Join ORAC as we head to Red River Gorge, home to some of the most unique rock features in North America.  The Red River Gorge area offers more than 100 natural sandstone arches.  The intricate canyon system also features an abundance of high sandstone cliffs, rock shelters, and waterfalls.  Explore this diverse landscape with us in early spring.  No backpacking experience in required.  All gear is provided in the cost through ORAC.
