WKU uses a multi-unit, collaborative approach to assess disruptive or concerning student behaviors, in the classroom and campus environment with a focus on creating a campus culture of caring for students of concern.  Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of how to recognize, approach, and report concerning, disruptive, inappropriate, and/or harmful behaviors.

 In this course, you will work on creating action queries and macros, linking to and grouping worksheets to create a workspace in excel, integrating Excel into Word and PowerPoint and finally, working with goal seeking and more advanced formulas.  Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts are powerful tools already available in Microsoft Excel. Pivot Tables allow you to filter, sort, analyze, and summarize very large spreadsheets in incredibly flexible ways. And, Pivot Charts transform that information into an easy to understand visual format. This class is not for beginners, but if you know how to use the basic functions of Excel, it can help you step up your ability to get the information you need from your data AND share it with others in a concise, useful format. 4 hour course Location: Knicely Conference Center

Experiencing grief associated with loss is not just difficult but also confusing, and loss is more than just losing someone in death. Is my grief normal?  How am I supposed to handle it?  What do I say to someone who is sad or depressed and how can I support them?  And because grief is so individual, let’s explore how to function through it without worrying about ‘how to’s.’

To work with emotionally distressed students effectively, first of all, we need to be able to help ourselves and take care of our own emotional reactions to them. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about emotions, how they function, and how to regulate them with a dialectical approach, mindfulness-based skills, and cognitive-behavioral techniques.
