WKU Team Receives Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education

A team of Western Kentucky University faculty and staff recently won an award from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for their strong education preparation programs.
CAEP says “The Frank Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement is awarded to educator preparation providers (EPPs) that achieved accreditation with no stipulations or areas for improvement by demonstrating strong evidence and data trends. Named after the founding President of the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), the award celebrates Murray’s legacy as a champion for rigorous educator preparation standards and his role in uniting the profession through the creation of CAEP.”

· Dr. Daniel Super, Associate Professor, SLPS
· Dr. Stacey Leggett, Associate Professor, SLPS
· Dr. Wes Cottongim, Assistant Professor, SLPS
· Dr. Sue Keesey, Department Chair, School of Teacher Education (STE)
· Dr. Janet Tassell, Professor, STE
· Dr. Kandy Smith, Associate Professor, STE
· Dr. Sarah Bonis, Department Chair, Psychology
· Dr. Jenni Redifer, Associate Provost for Research
Dean Murphy announced this award at a recent CEBS Meeting, noting that all faculty’s input, collaboration, and engagement lead to a perfect accreditation report and this award.
