Western Kentucky University has been ranked among the best in the country in 13 areas in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings. 

The 2027 rankings include:

• Undergraduate Teaching Programs – Regional Universities (South), No. 12
• Best Colleges for Veterans – Regional Universities (South), No. 14
• Top Public Schools – Regional Universities (South), No. 15
• Best Value Schools for In-State Students – Regional Universities (South), No. 17
• Overall Rank – Regional Universities (South), No. 30
• Best Value Schools – Regional Universities (South), No. 49
• Undergraduate Engineering Programs – (No Doctorate), No. 123
• Top Performers on Socal Mobility – Regional Universities (South), No. 132
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programs, No. 195
• Undergraduate Economics Programs, No. 222
• Undergraduate Business Programs, No. 230
• Undergraduate Psychology Programs, No. 276
• Undergraduate Computer Science Programs, No. 396

Results were tabulated using a wide range of data sources. U.S. News analysts and editors calculated well over 100 Best Colleges rankings, all with the intent of enabling students and their families to identify colleges that best meet their needs. The rankings highlight colleges that excel in areas including value, social mobility, teaching, veterans’ needs and in six academic disciplines (Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Nursing, Economics and Psychology). The 2027 rankings were released September 22.
