WKU and the Bowling Green Hot Rods will team up for WKU Night at the Hot Rods on Thursday, Sept. 3, bringing students, alumni, faculty, staff, families and friends together for an evening of baseball, Hilltopper spirit and community.

Gates at Bowling Green Ballpark open at 5:30 p.m., with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Tickets are $10, including fees, when purchased in advance using promo code WKU. [Purchase tickets here.]

More than a night at the ballpark, WKU Night is an opportunity to welcome students back to Bowling Green, reconnect alumni with their alma mater, introduce prospective students and families to WKU and celebrate the many ways the University and Bowling Green community are connected.

“WKU and Bowling Green share a special relationship, and this is an opportunity to celebrate that connection in a fun and welcoming way,” said Anthony McAdoo, Interim Vice President for Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement. “Whether you are a student beginning your WKU journey, an alumnus who calls Bowling Green home, a prospective Hilltopper or simply a friend of WKU, we hope you’ll join us for a night that brings our University and community together.”

WKU quarterback Rodney Tisdale will throw the ceremonial first pitch, accompanied by MSG Matthew Buck, a member of WKU’s ROTC cadre who will retire in May following his military service.

Big Red will also be on hand to greet fans, and representatives from across WKU will be at the ballpark to share information about University programs, experiences and opportunities—and help future Hilltoppers discover what it means to be part of the WKU community.

“We are excited to host our annual WKU Night at Bowling Green Ballpark while welcoming faculty, staff and students back to the Hill,” shared Kyle Wolz, General Manager and COO of the Bowling Green Hot Rods. “As an alumnus, WKU holds a special place in my heart, and I am happy that we have the opportunity to host a night where we all can come together in one place.”

Groups are encouraged to attend together, making WKU Night a great opportunity for alumni, families, community organizations, student groups and friends to enjoy an evening at the ballpark.
