Volunteer as a M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan Class Facilitator This Fall
- Monday, July 27th, 2026
Dear WKU Faculty and Staff,
Each fall, WKU's M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan program helps new students navigate their first weeks on campus — and we need your help to make it happen.
I am inviting faculty and staff from across the Academic Colleges to volunteer as M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan Class Facilitators. Facilitators deliver engaging, pre-prepared content to groups of approximately 50–100 incoming students on topics that do not always come up in a regular classroom, including:
- Setting personal goals for college
- Meeting new people and building friendships
- Getting involved in campus life
- Navigating key campus resources (Financial Aid, Blackboard, bus routes, TopNet, and more)
Why volunteer?
Serving as a Facilitator is a meaningful way to fulfill institutional service, build relationships with incoming students, and directly support their successful transition to — and retention at — WKU.
What's Involved
Class Sessions:
- August 19–21
- 1:45–2:40 PM each day
Training (choose to attend both):
- August 3 — via Zoom
- August 12 — in person
