WKU Student Publications names student leaders for 2026-27

WKU Student Publications has selected its student leadership for 2026-27.
Anthony Clauson, a rising junior from Bowling Green, will be editor-in-chief of the College Heights Herald newsroom for Fall 2026. Clauson, a journalism major, was news editor for 2025-26 and has led the Herald’s coverage of WKU’s dorm crisis, which earned him the top Best of Show Award for a news story at the National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C.
Kayla White, a junior from Elizabethtown, will be executive editor of the Talisman life and culture magazine and website for 2026-27. White, an English and professional writing major, was marketing manager for the Talisman is 2025-26.
Clauson and White were selected for their positions by WKU’s Student Publications Committee, a university-wide group with 11 voting members representing students at large, the Student Government Association, the School of Media & Communication, the dean of students, faculty, professional staff and the Kentucky Press Association.
Hanna Kronfeld, a rising senior from Chicago, will be creative director for the Cherry Creative branded content studio for 2026-27. Kronfeld, a visual journalism and photography major, served as Cherry Creative’s design editor for 2025-26.
Olivia McKibben, a senior from Lexington, will be the manager of Student Publications Advertising for Fall 2026 and Jenna Hall, also a senior from Lexington, will be advertising manager for Spring 2027, serving as assistant manager during the fall semester. McKibben and Hall both served as account executives on the sales team in 2025-26.
Kronfeld, McKibben and Hall were selected by the professional staff at WKU Student Publications.
WKU Student Publications is one of the most honored student media groups in the country, amassing 53 national Pacemaker awards from Associated Collegiate Press since its first in 1978 for the Talisman, then a yearbook, and in 1981 for the College Heights Herald, then the campus newspaper. Over the years, the Herald has earned 26 Pacemakers, the Talisman 23 and Cherry Creative and Student Publications Advertising have earned four.
Since 2020, WKU Student Publications has led the nation with 16 Pacemaker awards, considered the premier award for excellence in collegiate media. During that time, the Herald has won nine of those Pacemakers, the Talisman has won three, Student Publications Advertising and Cherry Creative have combined to win three, and Cherry Creative earned one on its own.
