Lucas elected as SGA president

The new executive council for Western Kentucky University’s Student Government Association was elected on Wednesday, April 15.
Caden Lucas, a junior from Harned, will begin his term as Student Government Association President. In addition to being Student Body President, Lucas will serve as Student Regent on the WKU Board of Regents.
Jakob Barker, a sophomore from Wilmore, will begin his term as Student Body Vice President and Will Derryberry, a sophomore from Bowling Green, will begin his term as Chief Financial Officer.
In the general election held April 13–15, 2026, a total of 1,601 students voted for President, Student Body Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and student senators.
Three individuals were elected as senior senators: Emily Oden, Amelia Tucker and Lainey Lindsey. Cayden Bailey, Veronica Butler and Evan Tuck were elected as junior senators, and Jackson Smith, Landon Terry and Carter Smith were elected as sophomore senators.
Trent Miller was elected as the transfer/non-traditional senator, and Jade Ismail will serve as the first-generation senator. Serenity Martin was elected to represent the Intercultural Student Engagement Center, and Aly Johnson will serve as the Mahurin Honors College senator.
College-specific senators were also elected: Hylton Brumley will represent the Ogden College of Science and Engineering, Tyreesha Morris will serve the Gordon Ford College of Business, Garrett Price was elected for the College of Health and Human Services, Gabi Pace for the Potter College of Arts and Letters, and Henry Fisher for the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences.
Thirteen students were elected to serve as senators-at-large: Gage Czirr, Molly Ricke, Daniel Campbell, Miles Harvey, Emma Hardesty, Clayton Roberts, Miranda Heuglin, Elizabeth Allen, Isaiah Wilson, Paul Fugett, Victory Okoroji, Ethan Vietze, and Simon Petruska.
