Below is mathematics course placement information for Statistics (MATH 183), Trigonometry (MATH 117), and Calculus I (MATH 136) as well as information on repeating certain courses.

For initial mathematics course placement information into General Math (MATH 109, MATH 109E, MATH 112), Algebra (MATH 115, MATH 115E, MATH 116, MATH 116E), or Algebra for Business (MATH 123) please visit WKU's College Readiness Course Placement page.

For placement exam information visit WKU's College Readiness Placement Exam page.

Statistics (MATH 183)

Course placement into MATH 183 is determined by meeting ONE of the criteria below.

Repeating a Course After Receiving a D, F, or FN

Current Course

MATH 115E/MATH 105
or MATH 115E
or MATH 115

MATH 116E/MATH 105
or MATH 116E
or MATH 116

Grade D, F, or FN

MATH 116E

Notes

  • Students who receive a passing grade in MATH 115E/116E or MATH 123 course but fail the MATH 105 corequisite, will still get to proceed and are not required to repeat MATH 105.
  • Students that receive a D or F in MATH 115 or 116 that need to repeat must sign up for a MATH 115E or 116E section. Repeating in these sections will still count as an equivalent for grade replacement purposes.
