Pedram, International Student Diplomat

Pedram Pishbin is a senior biology student at WKU minoring in chemistry and psychology. He is originally from Tehran, Iran and he began studying abroad at a young age. His experience as an international student exposed him to the value and importance of diversity in terms of people and ideas. Pedram speaks Persian and English proficiently and has an intermediate understanding of Arabic. His passion for science, along with his desire to help others, led him to choose healthcare as his future career. He volunteers in hospitals to gain deeper clinical experience in preparation for medical school. In his spare time, Pedram enjoys traveling, biking, swimming, reading, and playing video games.

“By becoming a Hilltopper, you will start an amazing adventure that makes you learn about the world and yourself,” Pedram said. “It also leads you toward your goals. WKU is a higher education institution that actively attempts to create and preserve a sense of welcoming and belonging for all international students from around the world. This helps students grow and develop both academically and personally.” Pedram says he cannot wait to share his experiences with future Hilltoppers.
