Gabriela Vargas, International Student Diplomat
Gabriela (Gabby) Guadalupe Vargas Berroa is from Arequipa, Peru. She is currently a double major in Architectural Science and Interior Design. Gabby speaks Spanish, French, and English. Gabby decided to come to WKU after finding the perfect combination of logic in architecture as well as the esthetic of interior design. Gabby loves to experience life outside of her comfort zone and learn not only as a student, but as a citizen of the world. She is involved in the Spanish Club, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. In her free time, Gabby enjoys drawing, painting, reading, learning about different cultures and sharing experiences with friends. Her favorite part of WKU is the “fantasy-dream appearance” of WKU in the Spring with all the blooming Cherry trees.
“My goal as an International Student Diplomat is to encourage other international students to take advantage of the opportunity to make their dreams come true. I also want to be a resource of experience and knowledge that can guide, motivate or help all international students.” After graduation Gabby plans to apply both of her majors to enhance cultural identity by building structures that inspire environmental awareness while fusing years of ancestral architectural development and fulfill new humanity’s needs.
