WKU Center for Child Welfare is seeking applications for the Integrated Family Trauma Treatment Clinic (IFTTC) Trauma Clinician. The Trauma Clinician will provide evidence-based trauma therapy, collaborative services, and systemic advocacy for children, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds who are at risk of or who currently are involved with the child welfare system. Services will include therapy, comprehensive trauma assessments, ongoing reassessments and screening, education, and care coordination. The IFTTC evaluates the effectiveness of its interventions by tracking outcomes for participating children and families. Findings from this work will inform the continued development of a systemic intervention designed to strengthen child-caregiver relationships, promote permanency, and reduce the effects of trauma on parenting and family functioning.
The Trauma Clinician must be able to establish priorities and work independently to meet deadlines. A qualified candidate will be organized, detail oriented, and have the capacity to work in a busy environment. The Trauma Clinician must provide services consistent with professional ethics and best-practice standards, while demonstrating integrity, accountability, and effective cooperation. The Trauma Clinician should possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, in addition to excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills. The Trauma Clinician must possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and will report to the IFTTC Clinic Manager.
While not exhaustive, the following duties are expected for this position. Duties may be altered based on client need or clinic need.
- Provide evidence-based or evidence-informed trauma-specific treatment to children and adults involved with the child welfare system.
- Collaborate and engage in collective advocacy with the child welfare and family court systems.
- Use measurement-based care, including validated, evidence-based clinical assessment and outcome measures, to guide treatment and monitor client progress.
- This position is based at the IFTTC's main office in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The clinician will also be required to travel to the clinic's satellite office in Glasgow, Kentucky, one day per week to provide services.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of all services provided, including case notes and other required clinical and service-related records.
- Maintain an active caseload and provide a minimum of 15 direct client service hours per week (e.g., individual or group therapy; clinical assessments; caregiver sessions; and other approved face-to-face or telehealth clinical services).
This position is supported through grant funding that is reviewed in two-year funding cycles. Continued employment is contingent upon funding and programmatic need.
Job Requirements:- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or clinical counseling
- Independent licensure in the state of Kentucky
Additional Information:Salary Range: $55,000 - $61,000
