Internships
The History Department offers internships for credit in a range of historical institutions in Bowling Green and beyond. Recent students have completed internships with the Kentucky Museum, Corvette Museum, Hobson House, Filson Historical Society, and Smithsonian Institution.
Students can complete HIST 314: Guided Internship to gain applied history experience in a structured setting with fellow students. In 2024, guided internship students created exhibits and hosted tours of the historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Bowling Green. In 2025, guided internship students collaborated with students in anthropology to learn about the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and create a catalog of artifacts in WKU’s collections.
