Biography

William Black is a graduate of the history M.A. program at Western Kentucky University and recently completed a Ph.D. in history at Rice University. His work has appeared in the Journal of the Civil War Era and the Journal of Popular Culture, as well as public outlets like Vox, the Atlantic, and the Washington Post. He is currently preparing a manuscript on the Cumberland Presbyterians, the largest evangelical denomination not to split along North–South lines during the American Civil War era.
