Department of History Staff

My research focuses on how museums collect, interpret, and build programming around modern sensitive and contested histories. Specifically, I am interested in how the modern conflict in Northern Ireland, commonly called the Troubles, is interpreted in museums. I have an interest in how material culture can be used as a tool to teach in traditional and nontraditional classroom settings. I am currently working on a project that engages with the legacy of Troubles and the practice of Public History in a "post-conflcit" society through an exploration of three collections and collectors.
