Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for QTAG grants?

Full-time faculty, including instructors, tenure-track and tenured faculty.

Are QTAG awards of less than $1000 permitted?

Yes, however, once you have been awarded QTAG funds, you will not be eligible to apply again for one year, regardless of the amount of your award.

How many QTAG awards can I receive?

Preference will be given to first-time applicants. Only one QTAG per faculty member will be awarded per academic year per recipient (including co-recipients), regardless of the amount. Additionally, no individual will be awarded two QTAGs in two consecutive semesters (e.g., if you received a QTAG award in Fall 2015, you are not eligible to apply again until Fall 2016). However, applicants who apply for a QTAG and do not receive funding are welcome to reapply.

What types of projects qualify for QTAG?

See QTAG guidelines, but generally speaking, project topics that do not qualify for RCAP would not qualify for QTAG.

What if I already have partial funding for the project?

Please include information about existing or past funding for the project in your application.

If a student is working on a project with me, can I request QTAG funds for the student to travel to a conference?

No, QTAG funds may only be used to fund travel for full-time tenure-track and tenured faculty members. However, you can request CEBS Research Travel Funding for students.
