The OPES team is here to assist with admission to teacher education, placement and supervision of all field experiences including student teachers, and with the application process for teacher certification and advanced degrees.

Praxis Test Preparation
The Praxis® tests measure the academic skills and subject-specific content knowledge needed for teaching. The Praxis tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations.

At Western Kentucky University, the Recruitment in Equity and Diversity in Teaching Program is committed to increasing the number of teachers in Kentucky classrooms through recruitment and retention efforts. The program is dedicated to assisting students who are pursuing teacher education as a major and collaborates with the Kentucky Department of Education and area school districts in bringing resources together.
