The Department of Modern Languages invites you to join us for "The Experience of Absence: Tracking Taboo Topics through Archives, Oral Histories, Anecdotes, and Artifacts", a thought-provoking faculty talk with Dr. Mei Li Inouye, assistant professor of Chinese and founder of the Chinese Program at Centre College.

Dr. Inouye's research and teaching explore transnational exchange, gender politics, and performance in modern Chinese literature, theatre, and visual culture. She holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Literature from Stanford University, with scholarship supported by the CLIR-Mellon Fellowship, the Stanford Humanities Center, and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.

This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary perspectives on culture, history, and representation. All are welcome!
