Description: “Dr. William H. Turner, author of The Harlan Renaissance: Stories of Black Life in Appalachian Coal Towns and winner of the 2021 Weatherford Award for Non-Fiction will visit WKU to discuss his experiences as an African American in Harlan, Kentucky as well as the Appalachian origins of the modern civil rights movement. This event will be part of WKU’s 2023 Black History Month events.”
