Description:

Gamma Pi International Art Honors Society invites the community to attend the opening reception for Black & Brown Lives Matter Juried Art Exhibition at 4 p.m. March 3 at the Intercultural Student Engagement Center, DSU 2041. The exhibit will be on display through March 28.

Artists were asked to explore themes such as:

  • Using experiences and artistic expression toward social justice efforts in response to systemic racism.
  • Representation of people of color in the visual arts.
  • A celebration of lives and experiences.
  • A memorial of lives lost.
  • Historical narrative interpretations.
  • The beauty of black and brown bodies.
  • The conflict of black and brown bodies in our society.
  • & More

Gallery & Reception Details

  • Gallery reception will be held from 4 p.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday, March 3. Awards will be announced at the opening reception.
  • Exhibition Date: March 3 - 28, 2022 | ISEC Gallery DSU 2041
  • Gallery hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Department of Art & Design Assistant Professor Kara Williams Glenn and student-artists will speak briefly about how creatives can use their platforms to promote, celebrate and embrace the diversity that is critical to our human experience.
