Goldenrod Poetry Festival Guest Poet -- Whitnee Thorp

Whitnee Thorp
is the author of Kintsukuroi (Finishing Line
Press 2017), hailed by Ellen Hagen as “down home electric”
and by WKU Professor Cheryl Hopson as “at turns elegiac and
ironic, curious and knowing.” She holds a BA in English from
WKU and an MFA in Creative Writing from EKU. She is
currently pursuing a doctorate in Education Policy,
Organization, and Leadership from University of Illinois
Champagne Urbana. For several years, she taught at the Pine
Ridge Indian Reservation at Oglala Lakota College in South
Dakota. She lives in Ferguson, KY.
