Teaching with Transparency: Designing Assignments
  • Date: Friday, September 24th, 20212021-09-24
  • Time: 1:00pm - 2:30pm
  • Location: HCIC 3005HCIC 3005
Description:

As we all continue to strive to provide our students with diverse, equitable and inclusive instruction, we invite you to join us for a discussion of Teaching with Transparency. The goal of Teaching with Transparency is to help students understand how and why they are learning course content in particular ways, and extensive research provided through the Transparency in Learning and Teaching project shows us that when we make our pedagogy explicit, Underrepresented Minority and First-Generation Students experience more success.

Through this hands-on, in-person workshop, faculty will get an overview of Teaching with Transparency practices, evaluate current practices, and work in small groups to identify adjustments we might make to our own assignments.
