Emily Hendricksen is a Brownsville, Ky native and is currently living there with her husband and two rambunctious beagles. Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Studies from The University of Kentucky in 2007 and earned an additional degree from WKU in 2011 in Art History. She also obtained her master’s degree from The University of Kentucky in Arts Administration in 2021. She has worked for several non-profits, including The Downing Museum at Baker arboretum as artist-in-residence, and assistant curator. Her passion has been the arts since she was very young, and always knew she would find herself somewhere within the arts community. She has a shared art studio space with other local artists in Bowling Green at the Pushin Building. She enjoys creating analog collage art, lifting weights at her favorite local gym, BG Powerhouse, and being involved with (and playing for) a local non-profit sports league, Vette City Roller Derby, since 2015. She also is passionate about a small non-profit, The Beagle Freedom Project, that helps abolish animal testing. She is honored and excited about her next adventure working in the arts here at WKU!
