WKU Study Abroad Scholarships
The World Topper Scholarship is offered through the Office of Study Abroad & Global Learning (SAGL) for WKU study abroad students who are not employed full-time at WKU. The online application can be accessed by clicking the link above. Awards range in amount and vary according to application quality, program length, program destination, and financial need.
Application Deadlines (subject to change): Summer 2021 (Extended to March 15, 2021); Fall 2021/AY21-22 (Extended to April 1, 2021); Winter/Spring 2022 (October 15, 2021)
$150 Application Fee Scholarship
SAGL awards a $150 scholarship toward the WKU study abroad application fee to eligible students who apply for the Gilman Scholarship, working with the Office of Scholar Development on their scholarship application. Contact a Study Abroad Advisor for more information.
The Student Government Association offers scholarships of up to $300 per academic term (winter, spring break, summer, or semester) and up to $600 per academic year. The application can be found at www.wku.edu/sga.
Members of the WKU Honors College are eligible to apply for the Honors Travel Abroad Grant (TAG), which awards up to $500 towards an academic term (winter, spring break, summer, or semester) or up to $1,000 towards an academic year.
The Modern Languages program at Western offers a number of partial scholarships to enable deserving current majors and minors to study abroad for a summer or longer. These scholarships, which typically range from $100-$1,000, are awarded to current students on a competitive basis.
There are a few study abroad scholarships available through TOPDollar, the WKU scholarship management system. Students must apply by February 1st for fall, winter, spring and summer of the upcoming academic year.
