The World Topper Scholarship is offered through the Office of Study Abroad & Global Learning (SAGL) for WKU study abroad students who are not employed full-time at WKU. The online application can be accessed by clicking the link above. Awards range from $100 to $1,000 and vary according to application quality, program length, and financial need.
Application Deadlines: October 1st for winter and spring programs, February 15th early summer deadline, and March 15th final deadline for summer, fall , and academic year programs.

$150 Application Fee Scholarship
SAGL awards a $150 scholarship toward the WKU study abroad application fee to eligible students who apply for the Gilman Scholarship, working with the Office of Scholar Development on their scholarship application. Contact a Study Abroad Advisor for more information.
The Student Government Association offers scholarships of up to $300 per academic term (winter, spring break, summer, or semester) and up to $600 per academic year. The application can be found at www.wku.edu/sga under "Scholarships and Forms" on the left side of the page.
The Scholars in Service (SIS) program awards scholarships to WKU students who have a desire to impact communities. SIS recipients can complete social justice or service activities locally, domestically, or abroad. Projects that promote public action, service-learning, and/or responsible citizenship will be considered for funding.
The Confucius Institute offers scholarships for short-term Chinese study (semester or academic year) and a fellowship for a Chinese language international education master's degree (Chinese as a second language).
Members of the WKU Honors College are eligible to apply for the Honors Travel Abroad Grant (TAG), which awards up to $500 towards an academic term (winter, spring break, summer, or semester) or up to $1,000 towards an academic year. The Gordon Ford College of Business will match up to $500 for students with a major in the Gordon Ford College of Business.
The Modern Languages program at Western offers a number of partial scholarships to enable deserving current majors and minors to study abroad for a summer or longer. These scholarships, which typically range from $100-$1,000, are awarded to current students on a competitive basis.
This scholarship is offered to students who are enrolled in an academic program that is housed in the University College. The award amount is for up to $500.
There are a few study abroad scholarships available through TOPDollar, the WKU scholarship management system. Students must apply by February 1st for fall, winter, spring and summer of the upcoming academic year.
