Docent - A knowledgeable guide who assists visitors at a museum. 

The Kentucky Museum is seeking WKU student docents for the summer starting the week of May 12, 2025 through Saturday, August 16, 2025.

  • The Kentucky Museum is open Wednesday-Saturday 9 AM - 4 PM.
  • $10 an hour. Total hours per week vary based on number of docents. 
  • Specifically, we are looking for students with availability to work Wednesdays- Friday 9AM-4PM and rotating Saturdays 9AM-4PM with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Also, students work occasional evening events, such as exhibit openings, special programs, etc
  • The position requires students to memorize scripts, interact with guests, help with tours, provide gallery security, and more. Applicants should be an outstanding student, have good communication skills, and ability to work with people.

*These student docent positions are available to enrolled WKU students only. If one is not a current WKU student, or an enrolled incoming freshman WKU student with a fall 2025 class schedule, cannot be considered for this position.
