By reserving TopperTech equipment, I agree to the following
- I am responsible for compliance with all terms of this agreement.
- I will take care of all equipment in my possession which includes, but not limited
to:
- Prompt return of equipment on assigned due date
- Notification of damage, stolen, or lost equipment
- Cleanliness and good operational status of equipment
- Notification if I will be late returning equipment.
- If I fail to comply with the above , I will be responsible for the value of unreturned
equipment and/or the repairing/replacing of damaged equipment. Loss of reservations
privileges may occur at TopperTech’s discretion.
- Payment for equipment damage is due within five (5) business days after notification.
Notifications will be delivered via my WKU E-mail address.
- The reservation of this equipment is for my use only. I understand reserving equipment
for other patrons is not allowed.
- Reservations will be deleted at the end of the business day if I fail to check out
the equipment on the specified pick-up date.
General Policies
- Equipment is reserved for the completion of WKU academic-related requirements or in
conjunction with WKU-sanctioned events. Falsifying intended use will result in reservation
privileges being revoked.
- TopperTech is closed any time the University is closed. It is my responsibility to
make sure my reservation pick-up date and/or return date is not scheduled when the
University is closed (barring weather and emergency related closures).
- Failure to Pay Policies
- WKU Students: Failure to pay within five (5) business days after notification will result in an administrative hold being placed on my academic
account preventing me from registering for classes. Reservation privileges will be
revoked until payment is received.
- WKU Faculty and Staff: Failure to pay within five (5) business days after notification will result in email communication from TopperTech to my immediate
supervisor explaining the nature of infraction. Reservation privileges will be revoked
until payment is received.
- All Clientele: Equipment not returned after thirty (30) days after notification will be replaced and the cost of the replacement will be billed
to the responsible faculty, staff or student as listed on said reservation. A permanent
loss of reservation privileges will be invoked on the clientele's account.
- Reservation Logistics
- TopperTech cannot extend time to an existing reservation in which equipment has already
been picked up by clientele.
- Equipment reservations cannot exceed seven (7) days. If equipment is needed longer,
clientele can return to TopperTech during normal operating hours and complete another
check-out process for the same piece of equipment for another seven-day period.
- Clientele may check-in equipment earlier than the assigned return date.
- WKU Students: WKU students are allowed to reserve up to five (5) unique pieces of equipment at
one time. Multiple reservations of the same equipment (multiple laptops, microphones,
etc.) are not allowed unless approved by TopperTech.
- WKU Faculty/Staff: WKU Faculty and Staff are allowed to reserve up to ten (10) pieces of equipmentat
one time. Multiple reservations of equipment exceeding ten pieces of equipment must
be approved by TopperTech.
Late Equipment Return Policies
- Late returns carry the following penalties:
- First Offense: Results in a loss of reservation privileges for one (1) month.
- Second Offense: Results in a loss of reservation privileges for two (2) months.
- Third Offense: Results in a loss of reservation privileges for six (6) months.
- Fourth Offense: Results in a permanent loss of reservation privileges.
- *Note: TopperTech understands life events occur which may result in a late return. TopperTech
staff will work with clientele on a case-by-case basis to determine an equitable result.
Decisions by TopperTech are final.
- Late returns which interfere with another Faculty, Staff or Student’s reservation
may result in a loss of privileges
- Failure to Return Equipment
- WKU Students: Equipment not returned three (3) business days after notification will be reported
to the Office of Student Conduct and holds will be placed on your WKU account disabling
your ability to register for classes and receive financial aid. Reservation privileges
will be revoked. To have your privileges considered for reinstatement, you must email
TopperTech (toppertech@wku.edu) with your reason for appeal. Decisions made by TopperTech are final.
- WKU Faculty/Staff: Equipment not returned three (3) business days after notification will be reported
to your immediate supervisor via email. Reservation privileges will be revoked. To
have your privileges considered for reinstatement, you must email TopperTech (toppertech@wku.edu) with your reason for appeal. Decisions made by TopperTech are final.
